PERSON OF THE YEAR LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT 2025 Recognition Banquet Mike Shiffler Cathy Miller-Temme GWEN JONES AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR EMPLOYEE EXCELLENCE Sue Ackerman The stars came out Friday night at the Centennial Community Center in Stetsonville as the Medford Area Chamber of Commerce recognized those who have gone above and beyond in the community as well as business milestone honorees and members of the 2024 Leadership Taylor County Class. Dave Brandner was recognized as the Gwen Jones Ambassador of the Year with 2024 recipient Mack Mulroy presenting the honor. Brandner was recognized for his long hours of service and commitment to assisting with the Chamber Ambassador group and its activities. Employee excellence awards were presented to Sue Ackerman of AbbyBank and Jean Czerniak of the Centennial Community Center. Milestone awards were presented to BS Bar and Catering for 25 years of service to the community; to Nicolet National Bank for 25 years of serving Wisconsin businesses and communities; to Centennial Community Center for 50 years of service to the community; and to The Star News for 150 years of providing news, information and entertainment to the people of Taylor County. The major awards of the annual recognition banquet were recognizing Mike Shiffler as the 2025 Person of the year. Cathy Miller-Temme was recognized for Lifetime Achievement for her many decades of service to the Medford community and surrounding areas. The event also included a Celebrity Dessert Auction with Duke and Kathy Packard of North Central Sales and a special remembrance of Dane Bolz who passed away last fall. Proceeds from the dessert auction help support Parkfest which will be held next August in the Medford City Park.
