The Dementia Care Specialist will be responsible for providing support, education and outreach to businesses, churches, organizations, families and individuals to raise public awareness with the goal of achieving dementia friendly communities. Specialist will help the elderly and individuals with disabilities, mental illness or substance abuse disorders experience daily life with dignity and security, maximizing their opportunities for self-sufficiency and choice. Specialist will coordinate the National Family Caregiver Support Program as designated through the Older Americans Act. Applicant must possess a bachelor’s degree in Arts or Science, preferably in a human service-related field, or a license to practice as a registered nurse in Wisconsin. Prior work experience in social services or human services working with older individuals and/or those with disabilities is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
