MEDFORD RIB LAKE A Veterans Day program will be held from 10:40-11:15 a.m. at Rib Lake High School. GILMAN In the Medford area, events take place from 8:45-9:15 a.m. at the Medford Area Elementary School, followed by an assembly at the Medford Area Middle School from 10-11 a.m. and a program at Stetsonville Elementary School from 10-10:30 a.m. Medford Area Senior High School will hold their assembly from 1-2 p.m. After the school ceremonies, the Medford VFW Post No. 5729 will be open to the public. All veterans and their families are welcome. The Gilman School District will host breakfast for veterans in the school commons at 8:30 a.m. with the program taking place at 9:15 a.m. There will be cookies and coffee for veterans and the community in the commons after the program. Bruce Brehm, of Medford, reflects by the Vietnam Veteran Memorial in Washington, D.C. during the Never Forgotten Honor Flight trip held on October 28. Brehm served in the U.S. Navy on the Gearing-class destroyer USS Gurke DD-783 and in Cam Rahn Bay, Vietnam. While this was the organization’s 50th trip, only about 21% of eligible local veterans have taken part in it.
