The event was held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and drew hundreds of spectators and fans of vintage sleds. Organizers said they had 97 registered sleds, of which about 30 were club sleds. Lack of snow on the trails resulted in the planned trail ride portion of the event to be canceled. However, there was plenty of other action with games, contests and activities. 1971-1975 Original 1st Place - Dennis Blasel of Medford 1973 Yamaha GP 292; 2nd Place -Roy Wiskow of Clintonville 1972 Boatal Grand Prix 1971-1975 Restored 1st Place - Todd Pitzke of Stetsonville 1972 Arctic Cat Puma; 2nd Place -Gordy Niemi of Withee 1973 Brut L44 1976-1980 Original Miss Wisconsin Lila Szyryj, was on hand to tour the event grounds, visit with the vintage snowmobile enthusiasts and helped hand out the trophies. The top 30 essays were selected from among all 8th graders at Medford Area Middle School. Student essays placing 16 to 30 received a $20 Chamber Gift Certificate and recognition certificate along with a laminated copy of their essay.
