Taylor County has a lot of out-of-the-way places to check out. The Star News in cooperation with Taylor County Tourism wants to encourage people to get out and visit these places throughout the fall season. the lines Each week, during the months of September, October, and November, The Star News will pick a public place in the county and run clues about the location in the margins of the pages of The Star News. Five clues for the location will appear throughout each week’s paper. Example shown next to this ad. Players then can use these clues to go to the location and take a selfie of themselves there and submit it to The Star News: starnews@centralwinews.com. Entries must include the name(s) of those in the picture and may be used as part of future county tourism promotions. Each month The Star News will hold a drawing from among the entries for that month with the winner to receive a Taylor County themed t-shirt. The top 30 essays were selected from among all 8th graders at Medford Area Middle School. Student essays placing 16 to 30 received a $20 Chamber Gift Certificate and recognition certificate along with a laminated copy of their essay.
