RIB LAKE Veterans Day Program Friday, November 10 Students, community members and veterans gathered on Friday at Rib Lake High School for the Veterans Day Service. The program included a musical selection from the high school band and choirs and guest speakers. Sgt. Justin Isom (right) spoke to students and community members about how veterans are “every day people” who accepted the call and sacrificed for their country. The greatest victory and freedoms our country has experienced have come from the hard work and sacrifice of normal everyday people that we call veterans. Commander Duane Harper (left) from Spirit talked about the meaning and history of “Taps” as well as emphasizing that “Freedom is not free.” Better begins by smiling a little more. Better begins at Aspirus Health. Laughter, joy, happiness—the things we all live for are the same things we at Aspirus Health work so hard to help you experience more fully. 139804_4 Find an Aspirus provider. call 800.847.4707 visit aspirus.org RIB LAKE Veterans Day Program Friday, November 10 Students, community members and veterans gathered on Friday at Rib Lake High School for the Veterans Day Service. Members of the Taylor County Coordinated Community Response/Sexual Assault Response Team (CCR/SART) gathered at Northcentral Technical College in Medford on Tuesday, April 28, where they observed two virtual presentations by Josephine A. Lauren of Incest AWARE. During the first session, Lauren educated on supporting survivors and their families by using the best language available and better understanding the basics about causes and consequences of this type of abuse. The second session brought to light the stigma surrounding difficult and taboo topics. Pictured are (l. to r.) Sam Jerome, initial assessment social worker with Taylor County Human Services; Sam Gehrke, Stepping Stones; Amy Riegert, Aspirus Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) coordinator; and Ashley Rourk, Stepping Stones.
