The Medford Area Public School District would like to commend you on your efforts in keeping the young people of the Medford Area Public School District safe on their ride to and from school, and on the many other trips that take place throughout the year. The safe level of service provided to these students is extremely important to the school district and is absolutely essential to the learning program. Your efforts in continuing the outstanding tradition established by providing the best service and safest possible ride they can get is essential, and the district would like to thank you for your efforts. Everyone in the school district appreciates what you do, even though they don’t always say so. A bus driver’s job is not always thought of in the highest terms and many people think it is easier than it actually is. Many times through the years, our drivers have exhibited kindness, compassion, and understanding towards our students and their problems. We are fortunate to have drivers that do this. All of us in the Medford Area Public School District want to express a very sincere THANK YOU to you. Kris Brandner of the Taylor County Autism Support Group put an autism awareness sticker on a young participant in the Walk for Autism Acceptance and Inclusivity that took place on Monday evening. The walk started and finished at the Frances L. Simek Memorial Library in Medford. This is the 10th year of the event and the importance of it continues to be felt in the community. “In Medford Schools we have 54 students who have been identified as being on the autism spectrum,” stated student services director Joe Greget. Events such as Monday evening’s walk helps spread awareness in the community and serves to highlight its awareness and acceptance in the broader community. BRIAN WILSON/THE STAR NEWS
