TOWN OF RIETBROCK MARATHON COUNTY Notice of Referendum November 5, 2024 Ballot Text The question will appear on the ballot as follows: “Shall the person holding the office of town clerk in the Town of Rietbrock be appointed by the town board?” Yes or No Explanation The Town of Rietbrock is asking voters to consider changing the clerk position from elected to appointed. This will no longer require the clerk to be a Town of Rietbrock resident. The appointed clerk would have qualifications, job descriptions, and wages/benefits set by the town board as they are a town employee hired by the board. The appointment would be for a term not to exceed 3 years at one time. The board may also be able to re-appoint the person for successive terms, if desired. Jody N.
