He is being challenged by current Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes with polls on the race having the two candidates in a dead heat coming into the final weeks of the election season. In person absentee voting has already begun in the state and voters will head to the polls on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. On a campaign trip through the northern part of the state, Sen. The DHS reported that there were 87 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Marathon County on Dec. 27. Andrea Sheridan, Athens schools superintendent, said last week the school board didn’t take any action following closed session during its meeting on Dec. 20 to possibly acquire Maple Grove Charter School and related real estate. The school board has discussed this matter in closed session during the last few month’s board meetings. A photocopy of the check was provided to LaPine and the check noticed that both her and another member’s signature was photocopied and printed on the check. All of the information on the fraudulent check was typed except for the check issuer. LaPine told police the Lion’s Club checks that are issued are always handwritten.
