Red Higgins presented a check for $17,005 to Medford VFW Post No. 5729 on Saturday during a veterans breakfast event held at the community center at the Taylor County Fairgrounds. The donation was from proceeds from the performer’s popular Christmas Concerts held on Dec. 2 and 3. The money will go toward the project to build a new VFW building. ELIZABETH WILSON/THE STAR NEWS
