A lot of time this summer has been spent filling our open positions. We are excited to welcome several new staff members to the district this year. Josh Zahl is our new 4K-12 principal. Jeremiah Blume is the new kindergarten teacher. Madelyn Nelson is our sixth grade teacher, and the second grade teacher is Taylor Rundhaug. Lastly, Michele North filled the 4K-12 administrative assistant position. Please welcome these people to our staff. We are still in need of someone to function as our athletic director. There are several duties this person would need to complete. First, there are some conference meetings that this person would need to attend throughout the school year. It is also this person’s responsibility to supervise home athletic events, schedule workers and officials for these events, and monitor students’ academic eligibility. Finally, this person is also the first contact for parent/athlete questions. This is a paid position, so please contact the district office if you are interested in learning more. The district will continue to run its own buses for the 2025-2026 school year. We have been looking for drivers all summer with minimal success. We still need route and trip drivers. If you or someone you know is interested, please contact the district office. We will pay for the license and the physical for interested parties. Many parents have expressed the need to have the bussing information as soon as possible and our intent is to do that. Over the summer, the board made the difficult decision to change the lunch program this year. The program that allowed the district to provide free breakfast and lunch for all students didn’t reimburse us the full price for all our meals, which has led to a deficit in that area. Because of this change, it is imperative that all families fill out the forms for free and reduced meals. •MS/HS boys basketball are co-oped with Greenwood •MS/HS girls basketball are co-oped with Greenwood •MS/HS wrestling are co-oped with Spencer •Girls hockey is co-oped with Black River Falls Spring sports: BACKPACK PICKUP INFO •MS/HS softball are co-oped with Neillsville •MS baseball is with the Neillsville Recreation program •HS baseball is co-oped with Neillsville •MStrackisco-opedwithNeillsville •HS track is here at Granton We are making every effort to get students to practice and games, but because there are so many moving parts to make all these co-ops happen, we need to know as soon as possible if things change. For example, if we bus 10 students to practice in Neillsville but parents are picking their children up from practice and no one tells us, we may be sending a driver over with a bus to return one student to the school. If everyone could help us with this communication, it would be much appreciated. I look forward to seeing all the students, staff, and families back in the next couple of weeks. BACKPACKS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP: Starting Monday, Aug. 18 Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the GRANTON SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE, 217 N. MAIN ST.
