August 9-10 The Loyal Corn Festival will be held, with events including citywide garage sales, live band Rising Phoenix at 8 p.m. Friday, Spanky’s Run at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, truck/tractor pull at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, parade 12:30 p.m. Sunday, and all-you-can-eat corn Saturday 12-6 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. till gone. Events will include kids’ rodeo 6 p.m. Friday, truck and tractor pull 7 p.m. Friday, 10-horse pyramid horse hitch 6 p.m. Saturday, Chris Kroeze concert 7 p.m. Saturday, demo derby 1 p.m. Sunday, carnival rides, and various livestock and exhibit shows throughout the week. Clark St., will be open to the public from 6:30-8 p.m. August 15 The Loyal Pop Up Shoppe, a unique downtown vendor space to showcase local products and services, will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at 238 N. Main St., Loyal. Peruse a variety of items, including beauty products, health and wellness products, arts and crafts, décor, food, and more. No ID or proof of income required. Receive produce, dairy/meat, and dry goods. You may pick up food for more than one household. For more info, call Feed My People Food Bank at 715-8359415. The Greenwood Area Food Pantry will be open from 35:30 p.m. at 302 N. Main St., Greenwood, for anyone in need of assistance. August 23 The Loyal Food Pantry, 132 N. Main St., will host an open house from 8 a.m. to noon for people to come and view the facility. No food will be distributed. All are welcome. August 6, 13, 20, 27 August 16 August 26 There will be music in the park on Wednesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. at the Spencer Community Stage in the Lions Park. Held rain (inside shelter) or shine. Line up includes: Aug. 6, Marshall Star Band; Aug. 13, Red Higgins; Aug. 20, Balsam Road Ramblers; and Aug. 27, Foxfire Affair. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening. The 25th annual Ride to Remember will be held at The Highground from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. bringing together veterans and supporters for group motorcycle rides, offering “wind therapy” while honoring fallen service members.
