Granton FFA shines at 2025 Wisconsin State FFA Convention The Granton FFA Chapter proudly represented our school and community with outstanding performances at the 2025 Wisconsin State FFA Convention held June 9-12 in Madison. With a strong showing across multiple contests, awards, and stage recognition, members demonstrated exceptional leadership, talent, and dedication to agricultural education. Day one highlights • Jordan Berg placed third in the highly competitive FFA discussion meet, showcasing strong communication and problem-solving skills. • The middle school quiz bowl team earned a third place finish, proving their agricultural knowledge and teamwork. Team members included Samiyah Modjewski, Nathan Schoessow, Sarah Seif, and Liberty Young. • Tori Seif, Granton FFA’s 2024-2025 chapter president, was honored with the prestigious Three Star Leader Award for her exceptional service and commitment to the chapter. Proficiency award results • Mindy Dix (below right), first place, ag processing, advancing to nationals • Marshall Kleiman (to right), first place, dairy production entrepreneurship, advancing to nationals • Jordan Berg, second place, ag communications • Jordan Berg, second place, agriscience research plant systems • Abby Schoessow, fifth place, equine science entrepreneurship • Kadyn Marg, third place, fruit production • Taylor Verhalen, fourth place, goat production • Emma Woller, fourth place, food services • Tori Seif, third place, vegetable production Day two highlights • Congratulations to (left photo, 1-r) Emma Woller, Tori Seif, and Jordan Berg, who earned the Wisconsin State FFA Degree, one of the highest honors a member can achieve at the state level. • The chapter was recognized on stage for its outstanding Food for America program, which promotes agricultural literacy and education in elementary schools. • Emma Woller and Zoey Lumley performed with the State Honors Chorus. Jessi Berg, Emma Brookhart, and Abby Woller performed with the State Honors Band, showcasing their musical talents at a high level. • The late Mrs. Cheryl Steinbach, Granton FFA’s advisor for 28 years, was inducted into the Wisconsin FFA Hall of Fame. Her husband, Tim, accepted the award on her behalf (top photo). Star awards •Tori Seif placed fourth in the Star in Agribusiness category, recognizing her exceptional entrepreneurship and leadership. •Jordan Berg (to left, highest platform) was named the State Star in Agriscience based on her involvement in the Wisconsin FFA agriscience fair over the last five years and independent research she has conducted regarding the agriculture industry. Day three highlights • The chapter was named a Gold Rated Chapter in the national chapter award program. This honor recognizes chapters that excel in growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture through impactful student-led activities and initiatives. Our application is advancing to nationals for further consideration. These achievements highlight the dedication and hard work of Granton FFA members, who continue to lead and excel across a variety of disciplines.
