Every week May 12, 28 May 17 The Spencer Area Historical Museum at 117 E. Clark St. will be open to the public from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Spencer High School Commencement will take place at noon in the dome. The Loyal Community Food Pantry at 132 N. Main St. will be open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m.-noon, Wednesdays from 2:30-5 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-noon. For more info, call 715-503-1071. May 12 May 17 The Greenwood High School pops concert, with the addition of Granton students, will be held at 7 p.m. in the west gym. May 7-10 The Veterans Memorial Park (corner of Hwy. 98 and Hwy. 13, Spencer) 10th anniversary celebration/ fundraiser will be held starting at 1 p.m. with a brick reveal/ wind chime dedication, followed by the Balsam Road Ramblers at 1:30 p.m. at the Lions Park, and a 2 p.m. Lions veterans quilt presentation. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. May 12 The Spencer High School Spring Awards Concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the Tack Center, 400 N. School St. The Highground Veterans Memorial Park, W7031 Ridge Rd., Neillsville, will have a spring work week. Hours will be 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. The Greenwood Area Food Pantry will be open from 35:30 p.m. at 302 N. Main St., Greenwood, for anyone in need of assistance. May 22 The Highground Veterans Memorial Park, W7031 Ridge Rd., Neillsville, will host a Mental Health Expo from 4-7 p.m. Veteran and community resources available will include the La Crosse Vets Center, Strides Equestrian Center, Off the Mat Yoga, and the Christine Center. There will be a suicide awareness and prevention training from Highground executive director Chris Pettis at 5 p.m. and a drum circle at 7 p.m. Free and open to the public as part of The Highground’s Community and Military Outreach (CAMO) program. Call 715-743-4224 for details. The Spencer Middle School Spring Awards Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Tack Center, 400 N. School St. May 8, 9, 10 May 26 Chili-wide garage sales (40-plus sales) will be held Thursday and Friday, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., and Saturday, 7 a.m.-noon., with maps available at all sales. Food and restrooms available. May 15 May 9 The Highground Honor Ride honoring veterans will take place. The public is invited to come and cheer on the motorcycle riders at approximately 11:30 a.m. as the routes arrive at the park, or at 2:15 p.m., when the riders take one final ride through Neillsville and return to The Highground. There will also be a Memorial Day ceremony at 3 p.m. Address: W7031 Ridge Rd, Neillsville. Spencer Elementary School will host a spring concert at 1:30 p.m. in the Tack Center, 400 N. School St. The Granton Area School District will host a Visioneers Art Sale from 1-5 p.m. in the central gym, with an elementary concert at 1:30 p.m., with a a theme of Disney show tunes. May 16 May 27 May 10 The Granton Pop-Up Food Pantry will be open at 21 S. Main St., from 11 a.m. to noon. No ID or proof of income required. Receive produce, dairy/meat and dry goods. You may pick up food for more than one household. For more info, call Feed My People Food Bank at 715-8359415. St. John’s Lutheran Church, 210167 State Hwy. 13, Spencer, will have a C.O.M.E. (Community Outreach Meal for Everyone) from 5-6 p.m. Menu includes Italian chicken sandwich, macaroni salad, cherry dump cake, blueberry dump cake, and ice cream. Starts at Granton Park. Registration opens 9:15 a.m. Kids’ course is at 9:45 a.m. 1- and 3-mile courses start at 10 a.m. Granton students’ participation is free but they must sign up. Registration fee is $10 for all other participants. Rain date May 18. The Spencer Area Historical Society, will hold a “Discovery Walk,” at the Spencer Kids Group hall, 117 E. Clark St., next to the museum. The event will start with a 1 p.m. recognition. Come discover the history of local citizens who made an impact on Spencer. The Spencer Kids Group, 117 E. Clark St., will host Mother’s Day bingo from 2-4 p.m. Come celebrate the mother figures in your lives. Snacks and refreshments available for purchase.
