Reflections from the Administrator by Greenwood School District Administrator Joe Green THANK YOU, COMMUNITY, FOR YOUR SUPPORT; STUDENTS STAYING BUSY Hello, Greenwood families! First and foremost, I want to wish you all a happy holiday season and a very merry Christmas! This is always a great time to reflect on all the greatnessourGreenwoodcommunity continues to display for our students and school! Santa project donations, donated meals, Kwik Trip gift cards for students in need and winter gear are just some of the many examples of the kindness and generosity our Greenwood families continue to share to ensure our students are well cared for! I am so proud of this community and thankful for people that continue to show support! This is always a busy time of year in our schools. Ending a trimester and starting the next, Christmas concerts, club activities, sports and simply getting things accomplished prior to the break, are all things that keep our students and staff busy. This can also be a very stressful time of year for our students and families. Please reach out if you know a student or family in need, so we can try and make the holiday season a little brighter and a little less stressful. As you remember, our district is operating the breakfast and lunch program under the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) this year. This program allows for free breakfast and lunch for all students. However, the annual cost to the district is approximately $40,000. Please consider making a donation, less than what breakfast and lunch would normally cost, to help offset this cost to the district. More information can be found on our website and district Facebook page. Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will hopefully allow us to continue this program! The School District of Greenwood continues our work with our neighbors. Greenwood and Loyal continuetodiscusswayswecanwork together, and investigate the potential consolidation in the future. The consolidation of our two districts would absolutely have a positive tax impact on both districts, but it is also something that takes time and careful planning. I strongly encourage you to reach out to me if you have questions, concerns or ideas that would help in any future discussion. In addition, we have been working with the School District of Granton. Granton is hoping to send students to Greenwood for the remainder of the school year to receive band and choir with our students. I hope this is a start to a relationship that can grow and bene_it both communities! Lastly, I want to thank our dedicated staff for their work so far this school year. There is no question that our staff is committed to working hard to meet the needs of our students, every day! We are so fortunate to employ a great team of adults who care so deeply about our students, their health and wellbeing, and success in learning! Please take time to say thank you when the opportunity arises; those words go a long way! Again, I wish you all a merry Christmas and happy New Year! I look forward to working together in 2025 and beyond! As always, please contact me anytime to discuss our district and the greatness it offers!
