Every week The Loyal Community Food Pantry at 132 N. Main St. will be open on Tuesdays from 9 a.m.-noon, Wednesdays from 2:30-5 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m.-noon. For more info, call 715-503-1071. Loyal Food Pantry is an equal opportunity provider partnering with DHS to provide USDA TEFAP Foods to our communities. November 27 St. John’s Lutheran Church, 210167 Hwy. 13, Spencer, will have a community Thanksgiving service at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to come praise and thank the Lord. Freewill offering – non-perishable food items or cash will go to the King’s Food Pantry, Spencer. The three Loyal congregations invite the community to join together to give thanks to God at a Thanksgiving Eve community worship service at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 N. West St., Loyal. All offerings received will go to the Loyal Food Pantry. November 28 The Loyal Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free and open to all. Carryouts/rides available; call Kris at 715255-9026 by Nov. 23 to reserve a meal/transportation. Freewill offering accepted, with proceeds going to the Loyal Food Pantry and Loyal Ministerial Scholarship Fund. December The Loyal Chamber of Commerce will host their annual Christmas Lights contest, awarding four gift certificates to residents and businesses who decorate their places for Christmas. Judging will take place Dec. 15. December 1 The Loyal Area Historical Society will celebrate “Home for Christmas” from 1-6 p.m. The community is invited to participate in a memorial service at 5 p.m. Santa will also be bringing each child a special treat, and there will be a bonfire and wagon rides around town from 2-4 p.m. Call Donna Langfeldt for more information, 715-255-8127. Game Group will meet at the Loyal Public Library at 1 p.m. Variety of card/board games. All are welcome. December 3 The Highground will host its patriotic quilt raffle drawing at noon in the new Welcome Center, with 27 quilts on display. You need not be present to win; however, winners who are present can choose their quilt. Attendees also eligible for in-person raffle. December 4 and 18 The Greenwood Area Food Pantry will be open from 35:30 p.m. at 302 N. Main St., Greenwood, for anyone in need of assistance. December 5 December 6 and 20 The Red Hats Christmas party will be at 11:30 a.m. at Rumors. Bring a wrapped white elephant item and a few cookies. Bingo will be played. Call June by Nov. 30 at 715-2559027. The Granton Pop-Up Food Pantry will be open at 21 S. Main St. From 11 a.m. to noon. No ID or proof of income required. Receive produce, dairy/meat and dry goods. You may pick up food for more than one household. For more info, call Feed My People Food Bank at 715-835-9415. December 7 The Loyal United Methodist Church will host their 13th annual cookie, candy, craft, porch pot and vendor sale, along with the children’s Christmas shop, from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., at the Loyal American Legion, 302 S. Union St. For more information contact Elizabeth at 715-650-0205 or Tami at 715-255-7120. The LuCille Tack Center for the Arts, at 400 N. School St., Spencer, will host a performance by Boogie and the Yo-Yoz at 7:30 p.m. Sold out, but call 715-659-4499 to be placed on the waiting list. December 7 The Christmas Parade will be held at 7:30 p.m. in downtown Abbotsford. If you would like to help with the parade, contact Kris O’Leary at 715-223-2342 or 715-360-0901 evenings. Costumes are still available and volunteers are still needed. December 20 The Greenwood American Legion Post 238 will hold a fish fry from 4-7 p.m. at the Greenwood American Legion Hall at 108 S.
