NOTICE TO THE ELECTORS, OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF CORNELL, CHIPPEWA COUNTY, WISCONSIN Notice is hereby given, that the school board of the School District of Cornell, at a meeting duly called, noticed, held and conducted, Sept. 22, 2025, adopted an initial resolution entitled: INITIAL RESOLUTION, AUTHORIZING GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $15,000,000 Said initial resolution was adopted, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 67, of the Wisconsin Statutes, to authorize a borrowing in an amount not to exceed $15,000,000, through the issuance of general obligation bonds, of the district, for the public purpose of paying for the cost of a school building and facility improvement project, consisting of: renovations and construction of a middle/high school addition, at the current middle/high school building and demolition of a portion of the existing building; district-wide capital maintenance, building infrastructure, systems, safety, security and site improvements; and acquisition of furnishings, fixtures and equipment. Copies of said initial resolution, and a detailed breakdown of the school building and facility improvement program, to be financed with the proceeds of the proposed bond issue, are on file in the district office, located at 111 S. 4th St., Cornell, WI, and may be inspected weekdays, except holidays, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The school board has called for a referendum election on the initial resolution, to be held April 7, 2026.
