Hornet Care Lead Teacher Job Description: Approximately 20 hours a week. The Hornet Care lead teacher is responsible for overseeing daily classroom operations and ensuring a safe, nurturing and educational environment for young children. This role involves planning and organizing age-appropriate activities, maintaining attendance records, and leading classroom staff in implementing a safe and fun learning environment. The lead teacher works closely with parents, staff and administration, to support the overall development and well-being of the children. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and organize engaging educational and recreational activities. • Take and maintain accurate daily attendance records. • Supervise and guide assistant teachers and in classroom activities. • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes emotional and social development. • Communicate regularly with parents about children’s progress and needs. • Ensure classroom safety • Observe and document children’s behavior and sit-in on behavior meetings, if needed Qualifications: • Previous experience in a child care or educational setting. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Ability to lead a team and manage a classroom effectively.
