Jennifer (Jones) K rug 1983-2 022 Jennifer Annette (Jones) Krug, 38, Medford, was called home to her heavenly Father on Saturday, Apr. 16, 2022 following a devastating car accident. Funeral services were held at Hemer-Pickerign Funeral Home, Medford on Thursday, April 21. Visitation was at 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Pastor Amy Heinz from Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church officiated. Jennifer was born on Sept. 20, 1983 in Chula Vista, Calif. to Stephen and Joanne Jones. She received her education and graduated from Hilltop High School in Chula Vista, Calif. Jennifer was united in marriage on July 5, 2008 to Joshua Krug, who survives. They later divorced but have remained close friends for the sake of their two children, Andrew and Josephine, the light of both of their lives. Throughout her school days she enjoyed playing softball. She was looking forward to seeing her daughter begin playing softball this summer. Jennifer moved to Medford in the fall of 2004 where she worked in customer service/sales at Family Video, AT& T, Applebee’s, Associated Bank, Le-Vel Thrive and most recently at Kocourek Nissan, where she was their number one salesperson for the entire company in 2021. Jennifer loved to cook and was excited to teach her daughter all she knew. Jennifer enjoyed sharing her meals with her family, friends, and co-workers. Jennifer was a loyal friend and enjoyed spending time with them and helping out whenever she could. Jennifer was recently able to purchase her dream home, which was a personal accomplishment for her. Family time, especially Tuesday family night, with her children and father were very special to her. She was extremely proud of Andrew and Josephine and their many academic and athletic accomplishments. Jennifer loved and is survived by her three sisters; Nichole (Shanna) Wyant, Ashley Carnes, and Jessie Carnes. They all loved Sisterpalooza picture time when she visited her family in Iowa. In addition to her children, Andrew and Josephine, she is further survived by her father, Stephen Jones; mother and stepfather, Joanne and Ron Carnes; nephew, Jack Shipley; “bonus kids” (as Jenny called them), Jay Worden and Jared Houston Brown; in-laws, Barb Krug (Ed Rowe), Kevin (Laura) Sova, Kaci (Nick) Klemm, Sarah, Kenny and Dalton Krug and Christopher and Samantha Sova; uncles, Ray (Cathy) Dube, Jr, Dennis and Tommy Jones and aunts, Joann Schilling, Suzanne McGinnis, and Christine Jones. Jennifer was preceded in death by grandmothers, Rolande Richer and Joyce Jones; grandfathers, Raymond Dube and Thomas Jones; aunts and uncles, Trina Knoer, Michael Jones and Timothy Jones. Jenny was a beautiful person and an amazing friend, recognized by many for her inspiration and contagious positive attitude. She will be greatly missed and always remembered in our hearts. elnhofer 1947-2 022 Sandra R. Kelnhofer, age 74, of Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, Apr. 12, 2022, at Aster Assisted Living in Marshfield under the care of Heartland Hospice. Memorial services for Sandra Kelnhofer will be held on Saturday, Apr. 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Rib Lake at 11 a.m. Rev. James Langebartels will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery. Sandy was born in Rice Lake, on May 10, 1947, to the late Raymond and Marian (Hanson) Mildebrandt. She was married to Raymond Kelnhofer on Sept. 15, 2003; he preceded her in death on October 30, 2021. Sandy grew up in the Milwaukee area graduating from high school and later attending cosmetology school. Following school, she owned and operated her own hair salon. Sandy later worked at ANP Dimensional Lumber for several years before retiring from Mid-Wisconsin Bank in Medford, WI. Sandy loved arranging flowers and tending to her flower garden. She enjoyed needlepoint, playing cards and games, and was a talented cook who loved hosting meals with family and friends. Sandy is survived by her loving dog, Homer, in addition to many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members. ick 2 022 Wayne R. Fick passed away unexpectedly on Apr. 9, 2022 at the age of 86. Memorial visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church (3600 S. Chicago Avenue, South Milwaukee) on Apr. 23 from 10-11 a.m. with a service at 11 a.m. Wayne was a loving husband, a dedicated father and a proud grandfather. Ever involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, he was their biggest fan and wasn’t afraid to share his pride with anyone who would listen. Wayne served his country as a member of the United States Army and had a 40-plus year career at Bucyrus-Erie as a machinist. Wayne enjoyed attending Wisconsin Badger football and Bucks basketball games, while regularly following the Brewers and Packers. Little St. Germain Lake was his favorite vacation spot for decades – a wonderful place for honing his fly-fishing skills and spending time with his family. He was famous for taking every back road throughout Wisconsin. There was no destination where he wouldn’t offer up a shortcut along the way. Wayne was also a proud Wisconsin resident. When asked where he would live, if he could live anywhere in the world – “South Milwaukee” was his response. Wayne embodied the wisdom of Mark Twain of “never letting facts get in the way of a good story.” Wayne was a loving husband to Marcie for 58 years; a dear father to Brian (Eileen) Fick and Brenda (Mike) Osell; beloved grandfather to Zack and Ally Osell; brother to Wanda (late Allen), Lietzke, late Alyce (Clay) Gagnie and the late Larry (Jeanne) Fick. 1945-2022 Sandra Kay Moretz, 76, of Medford died April 7, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on April 16 at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, Northwood, Iowa. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 to 2 p.m. Burial will take place at Sunset Rest Cemetery, Northwood. Sandra was born in Mason City, Iowa on April 24, 1945 to Nels A. and Hannah (Clayton) Gordon. She attended school in Carpenter and graduated from St. Ansgar High School. After high school she attended beautician school. Sandy and her husband, Richard ”Richie” Moretz were married on May 6, 1966. To this union three boys were born, Wade, Doug and Mark. Through the years Sandy and Richie moved from Iowa to Minnesota to Wisconsin. They raised their family in Wisconsin. Sandy was a homemaker, while working part time in a plastics factory. She enjoyed the outdoors of Wisconsin. After Richie retired they purchased a motor home and traveled. Their travels caused them to purchase a home in Arizona where they spent the winters. Sandy is survived by her sons, Wade (Katie), Doug (Susan), and Mark (Sheila); grandchildren, Stetson Moretz, Abigail and Erich Moretz, Phillip and Jacob Lang, Dylan Maki, Tyler Moretz, and Pyper Moretz; great-grandchild, Dylan Jr.; nieces and nephews who were like brothers and a sister, Keith Staff, Glen Staff and Lois Staff; many other nieces and nephews; and several in-laws. 1952-2022 Jeffrey “Jeff” W. Armbrust, 69, of Medford, passed away on Monday, Apr. 11, 2022 at Circle of Love, an adult family home in Weston. A Funeral Mass for Jeff will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Apr. 23 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Rev. Patrick McConnell and Father Joe Stefancin officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Holy Rosary on Friday, Apr. 22 from 4 p.m. until the time of a prayer service at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday, Apr. 23 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Jeff was born on Dec. 2, 1952 to Robert and Ruth (Doctor) Armbrust in Medford. He attended Holy Rosary School through 8th grade and went to Medford High School. He received a residential design degree from Northcentral technical college and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Religious Studies and History from Viterbo College in Lacrosse. Jeff married Michele Noble on Sept. 22, 1979 in Milwaukee. They have been married 42 years. After college and marriage, Jeff lived in Milwaukee for four years working as a meat cutter in a local grocery store; in 1983 he moved back to Medford and was a meat cutter at Armbrust Meats, his family’s business. He then proceeded to work as the Religious Education Director/Youth Minister at Holy Rosary Church for 12 years. Jeff had an authentic joy and desire to introduce the Lord to young people in a deep and personal way. During that time, he also owned and operated Lickety -Split where he made delicious custard and great food. He ran that business for seven years. He was a mentor to many young people whom he worked with. He also worked as a sales associate for Klingbeil Lumber Company up until the time of his accident. Jeff had a strong work ethic and enjoyed all his career opportunities. Jeff’s ability to imagine, design and create was evident in his many remodeling projects, his intricate flower gardens, backyard pond, gazebo, and in his carpentry work. He was the organizer of family Brewer games and gatherings; he loved spending time with his family and friends at the cottage and at the family’s hunting shack. He enjoyed anything outdoors especially boating, camping and always having the latest WI Atlas and Gazetteer so he could take the back roads to any destination. He was an avid sports fan and often attended Badger, Brewer and Packer games. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. On July 1, 2011, Jeff took a fall and suffered a traumatic brain injury. His family was fortunate and blessed to have found his home away from home at Circle of Love, an adult family home in Weston where he has resided since 2012. His family could never repay the love and care that was shown to Jeff and his family. He also went to Aurora Day Center three days a week, where he socialized, worked on daily skills, and enjoyed outings. His roommates, Brenda, Millie, and Alaina and all the folks who gently cared for Jeff will always hold a special place in the family’s hearts. You have become their second family. Jeff was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Michele; children, Rachel (Luke) Dixon, Luke (Cathie) Armbrust, Anna (Andy) Strnad; grandchildren, Natalyn, William and Beatrice Dixon, Oscar and Francis Armbrust, and Elaine and Quinn Strnad; siblings, Michael (Sally) Armbrust, Tom (Mary) Armbrust, JoAnne (Don) Faust, Becky (Doug) LeClair, Susan (Rick) Knopp; father-in-law, Paul Noble; siblings-in-law Patrica Noble, Ron (Cathy) Gotzler, Clark Peterson. Jeff is further survived by lifelong friend, Dave LeClair and other family and friends. 1935-2022 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Norbert F. Kaja on Apr. 4, 2022, born Jan. 17, 1935, the second son of John and Veronica Kaja in the city of Cudahy. Norb Kaja’s Celebration of Life is April 23rd at River of Hope Church, 1129 W. Broadway, Medford. Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m., Pastor Josh will speak at 3 p.m. He graduated from Cudahy High School in 1953. Norbert loved to watch the Packers, play golf, hunt, fish, play accordion and guitar and sounded like Elvis and Johnny Cash. The past few years his favorite morning hangout was breakfast at Uncommon Ground Coffee shop with China Heil (his best buddy) and his coffee clutch group. He was married in 1955 to Carol J. Herman, daughter of Agnes and Andrew Herman of Medford, then moved to Milwaukee where he started his career as a journeyman machinist for Allis Chalmers in West Allis and serving in the naval reserve at the Naval Station Great Lake in Northern Illinois. Ten years later they moved to Whittlesey where they purchased Norb’s Tap (later known as the high Chaparral Supper Club in 1969). Norb was one of the co-founders of the Chelsea Conservation Club as well as one of their first youth hunter safety instructors for boys ages nine and up. He was very active in the Whittlesey Catholic church and was the first choir director there (now Our Lady of Perpetual Help). His cremated remains will be buried at Whittlesey Catholic Cemetery at a later date. He was most remembered as the AFLAC salesman where he became district manager in 1977 and received many sales awards. He left that organization to work for the Prudential Insurance Company in 1979. After retiring from years of selling insurance he opened a used car lot and garage at his home location on Hwy. 13 (now the home of Royal Credit Union). What put a smile on his face the most was playing guitar and singing for his friends at birthday parties and celebrations. Norbert is survived by his ex-wife, Carol Kaja; son, David and (Deb) Kaja of Withee; son, William (Yvonne) Kaja of Gilbert, Ariz.; and daughter, Sandy Emmerich, Wausau as well as his grandchildren, Rindi (Justin) Boie of Big Lake, Minn,, Richell (Jordan) Dziak, Kiana Emmerich of Little Canada, Minn., Beau Emmerich of Wausau; sister, Carol (Brian) Kellogg; and extended granddaughter, China Heil of Medford and numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by twin daughters, Mary and Dorothy in infancy; brothers, Donald and Fabian Kaja; and parents Vernell and John Kaja.
