R EPORTS Two vehicle crashes
On December 23, at 4:48 p.m., a vehicle operated by Jeffrey Neis, 68, of Medford, was traveling northbound on Washington Ave. in the city of Medford, approaching the stop sign. Shelly Rohweder, 65, of Medford. was traveling westbound on Broadway Ave. (Hwy 64) attempting to turn south on Washington Ave. According to the crash report, Rohweder did not observe Neis located at the stop sign, turning too early and striking Neis. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were able to be driven from the scene.
One vehicle crashes
On December 28, at 10:21 p.m., a vehicle operated by Taylor Wisniewski, 16, of Sheldon, was driving south on CTH H in the town of McKinley. According to the crash report, Wisniewski stated they could not see the road curvature due to the fog. The driver failed to navigate the curve, struck a road sign and came to rest in the west ditch. The vehicle sustained disabling damage.
On December 25, at 3:50 a.m., a vehicle operated by Dorothy Anderson, 54, of Dorchester, was southbound on Oak Dr. in the town of Holway. According to the crash report, the driver did not see the stop sign for Elm Ave. and proceeded through the intersection into the ditch. The vehicle drove in the field way and attempted to turn around. The vehicle stopped in the field owned by Karl Ladwig of Curtiss and was unable to drive out. Law enforcement was notified at 7:06 a.m. The vehicle sustained disabling damage. Anderson was cited for failure of operator to notify police of an accident.
On December 25, at 1:30 a.m., a vehicle operated by Jordan Wicks, 27, of Medford, was traveling east on Dassow Ave. in the town of Chelsea, when the driver swerved to miss a deer. The vehicle crossed the center line and entered the north ditch. Upon entering the ditch, the vehicle hit a mailbox owned by Trevor Kraemer and came to rest in the north ditch facing east. According to the crash report, the vehicle had damage to the front end, passenger side rear window and rear bumper cover. It was towed from the scene due to disabling damage. Law enforcement was notified of the crash at 6:50 a.m. Wicks was cited for failure of operator to notify policy of accident, failure to keep vehicle under control, operating while suspended, and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Car vs. deer
On December 25, at 5:15 p.m., a vehicle operated by Allen Christianson, 63, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while northbound on Hwy 97 in the town of Goodrich. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
On December 25, at 5:50 p.m., a vehicle operated by Henry Blennert, 71, of Rib Lake, struck a deer while westbound on CTH M in the town of Greenwood. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
On December 25, at 5:06 p.m., a vehicle operated by Daren Gardehl, 53, of Mauston, struck a deer while traveling northbound on CTH C in the town of Rib Lake. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
On December 25, at 3:13 a.m., a vehicle operated by Angela Anderson, 53, of Owen, struck a deer while southbound on CTH E in the town of Hammel. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
On December 23, at 5:33 p.m., a vehicle operated by Henry Brushaber, 91, of Medford, struck a deer while eastbound on Hwy 64 in the town of Medford. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
On December 23, at 6:50 a.m., a vehicle operated by William Hengst, 68, of Medford, struck a deer while traveling on Grahl Dr. in the town of Browning. The vehicle sustained functional damage.
