R EPORTS Two vehicle crashes
On December 4 at 2:31 p.m., a vehicle operated by John Konrad, 47, of Westboro, was northbound on Hwy 13 in the town of Medford and was overtaken by a northbound semi with flatbed trailer operated by Justin Martin, 23, of Loyal, and owned by Martin Crane Service of Loyal. The Konrad vehicle was struck by either the trailer or part of the cargo on the trailer in the rear driver’s side. According to the crash report, Martin did not know he struck the vehicle and continued on and later reported that he was the driver after being told about it by a witness who flagged him own. There was no damage to the semi, trailer or load. The Konrad vehicle received functional damage to the left rear corner.
On December 6, at 8:07 a.m., a vehicle operated by Christine Noland, 64, of Medford, was pulling out of a parking lot at Hope Hospice at 537 W. Broadway Ave. in Medford. A vehicle operated by Julie Judnic, 57, of Medford, was backing out of its parking spot at that business. Judnic’s vehicle struck the Noland vehicle on the front passenger side door. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage.
One vehicle crash
On December 4, at 12:45 p.m., a vehicle operated by David Benavidez Vaca, 45, of Stetsonville, was backing into the driveway at 620 Allman St. in the city of Medford. According to the crash report, the driver stated that due to the slippery conditions, while backing his vehicle struck the residential garage. Both the vehicle and the garage were damaged with the vehicle receiving functional damage to its left rear corner, left rear side and left side middle and front. The driver left the scene but was later identified. Benavidez Vaca was cited for operating while revoked (revoked due to alcohol/controlled substance/refusal).
Car vs. dog crash
On November 30, at 7:14 p.m., a vehicle operated by Lori Henderson, 46, of Rib Lake, was traveling northbound on Hwy 13 and struck a dog that had exited the west ditch of Hwy 13.
Car vs. deer crashes
On December 6, at 7 a.m., a vehicle operated by Breanne Noland, 37, of Medford, struck a deer while traveling on Castle Ave. in the town of Medford. The vehicle receive functional damage to its front end.
On December 2, at 9:07 p.m., a vehicle operated by Phillip Perkins, 24, of Athens, struck a deer while traveling on River Dr. in the town of Medford. The vehicle received functional damage to the right front corner, right side and front.
