People may soon be able to get beer where they get their camping, lumber and tools.

At Monday evening’s Medford City Council committee of the whole meeting, aldermen recommended the City Council vote yes on issuing a Class A Beer License to Klingbeil Lumber Company. Klingbeil Lumber Company is going to start selling beer for people who are going camping, so they can pick up their beer while also getting camping supplies.

During the meeting the city also conducted reorganization business with the election of the standing sub committee chairs The Finance and Personnel Chair is Dave Brandner. The Public Safety Chair is Dave Roiger. The Public Utilities Chair is Gregory Knight. The Public Works Chair is Laura Holmes.

In other business, aldermen: _ Recommended restructuring of an apartment housing loan to FORE Investment Group for the planned 64-unit apartment complex on Pep’s Drive and CTH O.

_ Recommended approving an updated City Hall Clerical Job description. Currently, each position had a different job description. This update is to have better cross-training between employees, to avoid issues in the future with employees not doing certain things because it is not in their job description, and because there are not enough employees to have very narrow job descriptions that are stuck to.

_ Received a report that city coordinator Joe Harris had a meeting with Melvin Companies. They are planning on starting construction on Perkins Street the week of May 9. They have 90 days to complete the project. They will do everything East of the railroad tracks and then finish the road from the bridge to the tracks. There is a meeting being held by the railroad to discuss redoing the tracks in that area as well. The city offered to pay for any asphalt for them if they do.
