Chieftains offense shut down by sting of Hornets

After a week of festivities, it was time for the big Homecoming game for the Lake Holcombe football program, Sept. 19, as they took on Alma Center-Lincoln, in a conference match-up. The Chieftains were held to a single score, watching the opposition walk away with a 46-8 win.

Coming up big on the night, was junior Connor Kane, who ended with 115 rushing yards and scored the only touchdown of the game. Junior Emmit Johnson followed that with 7 passing yards, 15 on return and 26 kicking yards, while junior Kadyn Jones had 30 rushing yards and 21 yards in return.

Freshman Blake Endvick also had 21 return yards and sophomore Keegan Dernovsek collected 11 yards on return.

Jones also led on defense, with 11 tackles, followed closely by Kane, with 10, while Johnson and senior Tommy Kane each had 6 tackles. Sophomore Weston Winchel came next, with 4 tackles, with seniors Ransom Cwikla and Tyler Hattamer each adding 2 tackles.

Notching a tackle each, were Dernovsek, Endvick, senior Brody Miller, junior Kooper Pofelski, sophomore Carter Kron and freshman Koy Johnson.
