Chieftains continue pecking, but can’t match Cardinals
It was off to Thorp, Sept. 12, for the Lake Holcombe football program, in a league game that was a hard-fought one. Although the Chieftains didn’t get the win, they didn’t quit and kept pace with Thorp, as well as they could.
In the end, the Cardinals took the victory, 36-16.
Coming up with 102 rushing yards, was junior Emmit Johnson, along with 145 yards in kicking, 57 in passing and 27 on receiving, while he also had 9 tackles. Junior Connor Kane ended with 38 yards in receiving and 25 tackles, along with 2 sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery.
Freshman Slate Linskey had 27 yards in passing and 5 in rushing, while freshman Koy Johnson had 25 rushing yards and 12 in receiving, with freshman Blake Endvick collecting 21 yards on return.
Defensively, junior Kadyn Jones had 11 tackles on the night, while senior Tommy Kane had 10. Following that, was sophomore Weston Wichel, with 5 tackles, and seniors Tyler Hattamer and Brody Miller, and sophomore Kyle Heidtke, who each had 4.
