Hornets unable to recover against top-ranked Tigers

Cadott’s softball program, ranked No. 9 in the playoff bracket, was on the road, May 27, at No. 1 Stratford, in the second round of Regionals. The Hornets couldn’t muster any offense, despite a nice double from senior Rilei Weeks, but didn’t score a run and the defense couldn’t hold the Tigers, who took a 12-0 victory.

That put an end to Cadott’s season and playoff run.

Senior Kasey Moldrem pitched her last high school game, going four innings, with 15 hits, 12 runs and 2 strikeouts to her credit.

“As a team, we had eight errors and that is what lost us the game,” said coach Lexie Rothbauer. “We weren’t able to recover, unfortunately.”
