In the lone meet of the week, the Cornell-Lake Holcombe track program was at Chetek-Weyerhaeuser, April 29, much to the relief of all who took part in the event.
“Last night, was the first good weather track meet we have competed in,” said coach Laurie Bowe.
Leading the way, was senior Hunter Anders, who took first place in high jump (5-06), 10th in the 200-meter dash (25.73) and 11th in long jump (16-01.5), while junior Logan Jaedike was fourth in pole vault (9-00) and 15th in the 200 dash, followed by sophomore Bryce DeJongh, in fifth (9-00), in pole vault. DeJongh was also 13th in the 100-meter dash (13.01) and 17th in the 200 dash (27.23).
Placing seventh in the triple jump, was junior Alex Dixon (36-02), who was also 11th in the 800-meter run (2:31.77), with sophomore Will Willmarth taking 15th in long jump (15-05.5) and 19th in the 100 dash (13.64), while junior Tommy Kane was 17th in shot put (28-06).

“Every athlete who competed had at least one personal best in an event,” said Bowe. “I am very proud of all the athletes who competed and I am looking forward to seeing how they continue to improve.”
