Hornets place high in meet at Bloomer

Cadott’s track program managed to get in a meet, in between rainy weather, May 1, at Bloomer, in which junior Iszy Sonnentag cleaned up.

She not only took first place in the 800-meter run (2:17.92) and 100-meter hurdles (16.17), but also in the long jump (16-05.5). Junior Haley Mathison also took first, in the discus throw (130-03) and shot put (3404.75), and was eighth in high jump (4-04).

Also placing high, was sophomore Tessa York, who took fourth in pole vault (96-06), with sophomore Ali Blum in fifth in shot put (29-03.5) and seventh in discus (83-10). Senior Adrianna Goodman placed sixth in the high jump (4-06) and seventh in long jump (15-00.5), while freshman Kaylee Stai placed sixth in pole vault (600).

Junior Marley Mengel was eighth in the 100 hurdles (22.13), freshman Saffron Riley-Starck placed eighth in the 300-meter hurdles (58.25) and senior McKenna Steinke was ninth in the 1,600-meter run (6:44.49).

The 4x400-meter relay team of senior Keira Urbanek, junior Lilly Spaeth, Steinke and freshman Sydney Spaeth, also placed first (4:45.4).

On the boys’ side, the 4x400 relay of junior Saibyn Will, and sophomores Coy Ramseier, Brenton Faber and Kaden Roen, took first (3:40.09), as did the 4x800-meter relay of Will, Roen, and sophomores Jon Phelps and Beau Steinke.

Individually, Steinke claimed second place in the 3,200-meter run (10:22.76), third in high jump (5-06) and fifth in the 400-meter dash (55.75). Faber finished third in the 110-meter hurdles (19.91), fourth in the triple jump (35-03.5) and fifth in the high jump (5-04).

Senior Tucker Salzgeber came in third in shot put (3804.75) and seventh in the discus throw (113-04), while Will was third in the 300 hurdles (49.09) and Roen placed fifth in the 200-meter dash (23.63). Sophomore Brener Rodriquez took fifth place in the 110 hurdles (22.65), and eighth in the 300 hurdles (52.83) and triple jump (26-00), with freshman Bradley Kreuser in seventh place in triple jump (27-03).

Coming in seventh in shot put, was junior Mitchell Reineke (36-00.25) and Phelps was 10th in the 3,200 run (12:03.71).

“The season is really going by quickly, as we are already into May, and heading down the back stretch,” said coach Pat Rothbauer.
