Hornets battling it out with league hard-hitters

Giving their all in four games in as many days, the Cadott softball program provided some exciting moments for fans.

April 23 vs. McDonell conference (L 10-0)

Beginning the week at home, Cadott took on McDonell, but were unable to put any runs on the board.

Junior Kasey Moldrem was at the mound for the Hornets, with 5 strikeouts, while offensively, junior Rilei Weeks had a double and sophomore Karlee Davis came up with a single.

April 25 vs. Regis conference (W 19-8)

Two days later, the Hornets were on the road at

Regis, where the team had a collective 13 hits, for a 19-8 win.

Sophomore Kennedy Nerdrum started at the mound, notching 7 strikeouts, and Moldrem finished the game, taking 2 strikeouts with her.

Weeks and Davis each had a single, and a double.

April 26 vs. Osseo-Fairchild conference (L 4-2)

The next night, it was a fight for the win, in game one of two at home against Osseo-Fairchild, but the Thunder edged Cadott for a 4-2 victory.

Moldrem was again on the mound for the Hornets, as well as hitting a two-run homer on the offensive side of things.

April 26 vs. Osseo-Fairchild conference (L 15-14)

In game two, it was a close affair, but the Thunder held on for a 15-14 advantage.

Weeks also had a triple in that game, while Moldrem finished with 8 strikeouts combined on the night.

“Way to play hard tonight, ladies,” said coach Lexie Rothbauer.

Cadott is now 6-6 on the season overall and 2-5 in conference play.
