The Medford Raiders boys hockey team presented Commander Bill Vach of Klossner-Dietzler VFW Post 5729 of Medford with a check for $1,060. The team conducted a basket raffle at its Jan. 23 home game with all proceeds going to the VFW New Building Fund. The VFW and American Legion color guard presented the U.S. Colors and veteran Arnold Koeppe sang the national anthem. Donations toward the “VFW Post 5729 New Building Fund” can be made at any of the following institutions in Medford: Nicolet National Bank, AbbyBank, Forward Bank, Prevail Bank or Royal Credit Union, or by contacting Post Commander Bill Vach. The Medford Raiders will be represented in three events Friday evening at the WIAA Division 2 girls swimming state championship meet at Waukesha South. From left to right, Tori Nicks is part of the 200- and 400-yard freestyle relay teams, Sophie Sperl qualified in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200-yard freestyle relay, Kodi Rappe is on both relay teams, Mylah Hamland is part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team and Layla Petersen is on both relay teams.
