The Cornell-Lake Holcombe Knights Track team really is functioning as just that – a team – which they showed at the conference meet, followed by Regional action.

“Many athletes performed their personal best and set a few Knights’ records,” said coach Laurie Bowe.
Notching championships at the meet, were junior Emma Lechleitner in the 300-meter hurdles; junior Trent Nitek in the 100-meter dash and long jump; senior Dylan Bowe in the 300 hurdles; and senior Avery Turany in pole vault.
Placing first for the relay teams, were the girls 4x100-meter relay (freshman Emma Wright, juniors Marcella Boehm, Lauren Samardzich and Haily Duffy); and 4x200-meter relay, with a new Knights record of 1:52 (Lechleitner, Duffy, Samarzich and Marcella Boehm).
The boys also placed first in the 4x100-meter relay (junior Branden Moore, D. Bowe, Turany and senior Blake Anders); and 4x200-meter relay (Anders, D. Bowe, Turany and Nitek).
Coming in second, were Boehm (100-meter high hurdles and long jump); Nitek (200-meter dash, with a new Knights record of 22.04); and Anders (triple jump), while the 4x400meter relay placed second (freshman Logan Jaedike, sophomore Hunter Anders, senior Harley Schroeder and freshman Alex Dixon).
“We had a great performance at conference and the athletes are excited for Regionals in Flambeau, next week,” said L. Bowe.
