Medford, Rib Lake softball open at Rhinelander indoor tourney this weekend

The Medford Raiders and Rib Lake Lady Redmen will open their 2023 softball seasons this weekend at the Danny Mac Classic, a four-day event hosted by Rhinelander inside the comforts of the Hodag Dome.

The event features 24 total teams who are divided into three, eight-team brackets.

Medford will play in the late Friday/ early Saturday bracket, while Rib Lake is in the late Saturday/early Sunday bracket. The third bracket plays late Thursday/early Friday.

The schedule for Medford’s bracket is as follows: Medford vs. Wausau West on field two, Friday at 4:45 p.m.; Hayward vs. Athens on field one, Friday at 4:45 p.m.; Thorp vs. Drummond on field one, Friday at 6:30 p.m.; Stratford vs. Wautoma on field two, Friday at 6:30 p.m. Losers games one and two on field one, Friday at 8:15 p.m.; losers games three and four on field two, Friday at 8:15 p.m.; winners games one and two on field one, Saturday at 9 a.m.; winners games three and four on field two, Saturday at 9 a.m; seventh-place game on field two, Saturday at 10:45 a.m.; fifth-place game on field one, Saturday at 10:45 a.m.; championship on field one, Saturday at 12:30 p.m.; third-place game on field two, Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The schedule for Rib Lake’s bracket is as follows: Rib Lake vs. Shiocton on field one, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.; Elcho vs. Spencer on field two, Saturday at 3:30 p.m.; Shawano vs. Crandon on field one, Saturday at 5:15 p.m.; Auburndale vs. Waupaca on field two, Saturday at 5:15 p.m.

Losers games one and two on field one, Saturday at 7 p.m.; losers games three and four on field two, Saturday at 7 p.m.; winners games one and two on field one, Saturday at 8:45 p.m.; winners games three and four on field two, Saturday at 8:45 p.m; seventh-place game on field two, Sunday at 9 a.m.; fifth-place game on field one, Sunday at 9 a.m.; championship on field one, Sunday at 11 a.m.; third-place game on field two, Sunday at 11 a.m.
