Hornets dogged by Boyceville for a loss

By Ginna Young

It finally feels like the right weather for football, which Cadott found out in their chilly game Oct. 14, as they played host to Boyceville, for a regular season Dunn-St. Croix Conference showdown.

Both teams were fairly evenly matched in the opening quarter, with the Hornets leading at the end of the first, 7-6. By the second quarter, it was all the Bulldogs, as they put up 19 points on the board over Cadott.

Things slowed down a little after halftime, but another six points went to Boyceville. The Hornets tried to make a comeback, adding a touchdown in the final quarter, but with another 14 points added to the Bulldogs’ score, the game went to the visitors, 45-14.

Cadott will now focus on their post-season efforts, going into the playoffs with a 6-3 overall record and 4-3 in league play. On their home turf, the Hornets face Ladysmith in first-round action Oct. 21.
