Car vs. sign post and utility box

Cody David Church, 22, of Medford, was traveling westbound on Hwy 64, in the town of Browning, on September 18, at 10:02 p.m. Church’s vehicle entered the north ditch, striking a sign post and then a utility box before coming to rest. Church advised that he may have fallen asleep. The vehicle was towed due to disabling damage. Church received a citation for vehicle operator failure to wear a seat belt.

Larry Lynn Zimmerman, 78, of Westboro, was traveling eastbound on CTH D, in the town of Westboro just west of W7320 CTH D. Zimmerman put on his blinker to turn left into the driveway. Dominik Allen Johnson, 24, of Holmen, was passing Zimmerman’s vehicle on his motorcycle on the left side. Johnson’s motorcycle hit Zimmerman’s vehicle in the front driver’s side of the vehicle. Johnson was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital and Clinics by EMS ground for suspected minor injury.

Laura M. Kalmon, 81, of Medford, was advancing from a stopped position at a posted flashing stop sign southbound on CTH E, on September 13, at 11:09 a.m., in the town of Holway. Edward G. Peters, 60, of Greenwood was traveling eastbound on CTH O. Kalmon’s vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of Peters’ vehicle. Peters’ vehicle came to rest on its roof facing southwest. Kalmon was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way from stop sign.

Kathryn Jean Ellis, 63, of Rib Lake, was traveling north on Hwy 13, on September 24, at 10:19 a.m., in the town of Medford. Jessica Hayley Yauck, 25, of Rib Lake, was traveling behind Ellis’ vehicle. Ellis slowed down due to a vehicle turning and Yauck’s vehicle hit the back end of Ellis’ vehicle.

Thomas E. Danen, 78, of Medford, was traveling westbound on CTH M, in the town of Chelsea, on September 22, at 3:24 p.m. Danen stated that he swerved to miss a deer when he went into the wet swampy ditch. Danen’s vehicle had undercarriage damage and had to be towed due to disabling damage.

The following car versus deer accidents were reported: Matthew John Schneider, 59, of Rib Lake, on September 19, at 10:32 p.m., on CTH M, in the town of Medford; Ashton James Mercier, 18, of Cornell, on September 25, at 8:30 p.m., on Hwy 64, in the town of Hammel; Roger Charles Byrd, 61, of Rib Lake, on September 23, at 5:15 a.m., on CTH M, in the town of Greenwood; Timothy Allen Guralski, 57, of Athens, on September 22, at 10:15 p.m., on Hwy 13, in the town of Little Black.
