CRASH REPORTS
Allah K. Buggs, 25, of Weston, was traveling on CTH O, approaching CTH C, on December 15, at 6:20 a.m., in the town of Browning. Buggs failed to negotiate the curve to the right and went straight off the road. Buggs entered the ditch, struck a curve marker sign, rolled over, and came to rest on a power pole, which was not damaged. Icy and wet road conditions were a factor in the crash. A citation for operating while suspended was issued to Buggs.
Jose Nolberto Castro, 37, of Gilman, was traveling westbound on CTH S, in the town of Aurora, on December 16, at 8:01 a.m. Castro went into the north ditch, struck a fence, and rolled over coming to rest on the vehicleās roof. Castro was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital with suspected minor injury.
Elizabeth Rae Nelles, 16, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Apple Ave., on December 15, at 7:15 p.m., in the town of Holway. Due to intense fog, the road was very difficult to see. The driver advised that she was attempting to keep on the road, drifted over onto the shoulder of the road. She was pulled into the ditch, struck a fence post on the property, and came to rest between the power pole and the ground wire, without striking either of them. Vehicle was towed from the ditch and driven from the scene the next day.
Landon Richard Hamland, 41, of Medford, was southbound on Hwy 13, on December 15, at 2:45 p.m., in the town of Medford. Hamland was approaching the intersection of CTH O. Hamland stated that the front driver side tire came off the vehicle and the vehicle left the roadway. The tire was located on the opposite side and off of the road. The car was towed from the scene due to disabling damage.
Donovan Allen Turek, 31, of Gilman, was backing into a driveway, with a trailer, from Hwy 64, on December 15, at 9:42 a.m, in the town of Aurora. Due to severe fog conditions, Kevin P. Hager, 57, of Cadott, who was driving a hauler owned by Clover Leaf Farm Supply, swerved to the north to avoid hitting Turek. Hager went into the ditch, hitting Turekās trailer in the driveway, and then striking a pole. A citation of unsafe backing of vehicle was issued to Turek.
Ethan Michael Mottle, 17, of Withee, turned east from Perkinstown Ave, on December 19, at 12:48 p.m. While Mottle was on Beaver Creek Rd, he started backing up. William Kenneth Rosa, 58, of Medford, came to a complete stop behind Mottle on Beaver Creek Rd. Rosa was honking his horn, trying to get Mottleās attention. Mottle was issued a citation for unsafe backing of vehicle.
Noah Isadore Mahner, 21, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Center Ave., on December 16, at 1:25 p.m., in the town of Medford. The utility work sign had blown over and he could not see the trucks over the crest of the hill. Mahner came over the hill, and observed the trucks on the south side of the road. Mahner attempted to stop, but due to the snow and ice covered roads, he slid into the front of a truck owned by Taylor Electric Cooperative. The truck was legally parked and unmoving. Michael Jon Eloranta, 38, of Medford was standing in the bed of the parked truck when it got hit. No injuries were sustained. Taylor County Cooperative truck was driven from the scene, however Mahnerās vehicle was towed due to disabling damage.
Karen Ann Rau, 68, of Medford, was traveling eastbound on Hwy 64, on December 15, at 12:54 p.m., in the town of Medford. Keith Allen Repinski, 56, of Amherst, turned onto Hwy 64 from a driveway and didnāt see Rau, due to dense fog. Repinski side swiped Rau. Rauās vehicle was towed, but not due to disabling damage.
Paul A. Hackel, 54, of Rib Lake, was traveling westbound en route to a service call on CTH M, in the town of Chelsea, on December 15, at 10:32 p.m. Hackel encountered a tree that was lying across the road. Hackel was blinded by the lights of an oncoming vehicle, and he drove over the tree.
