Perry M. Frahm, 54, Medford, and Patrick L. Noland, 16, Medford, were involved in an accident on February 4 at 12:39 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Chelsea. According to the accident report, both vehicles were northbound on Hwy 13. The Frahm vehicle slowed or stopped and was struck from behind by the Noland vehicle. Frahm stated the chains on the snowplow failed and the blade dropped on the road, at which point Frahm slowed or stopped and was struck by the Noland vehicle. Noland stated the Frahm vehicle was coming back into the northbound lane of traffic from the southbound lane when the Noland vehicle struck it. The Frahm vehicle sustained damage to the right side front. The Noland vehicle sustained minor damage to the left front corner. Weather and road surface conditions were listed as factors in the accident.

Theresa M. Drietz, 21, Owen, and Daniel L. Geiger, 35, Spencer were involved in an accident on February 5 at 1:45 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, the Drietz vehicle was northbound and the Geiger vehicle was southbound on Hwy 13. The Drietz vehicle slid sideways and crossed over the centerline into the southbound lane of traffic. The driver of the Geiger vehicle slowed down but was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision. Drietz sustained a suspected serious injury and was transported by Marshfield Medical Center-Marshfield for medical treatment. The Drietz vehicle sustained damage to the rear and entire right side. It was towed from the scene. The Geiger vehicle sustained damage to the front, left front corner and right front corner. Road surface conditions was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. Geiger was issued citations for displaying an unauthorized vehicle registration plate and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

Gina M. Johnson, 25, Medford, and Stacy L. Retterath, 46, Stetsonville, were involved in an accident on February 9 at 6:42 a.m. on CTH C in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, both vehicles were northbound on CTH C when the Johnson vehicle struck the rear of the Retterath vehicle. Retterath stated she was traveling at 45 mph due to the icy road conditions. Johnson stated that she was unable to slow down enough to avoid the collision. Rettarath sustained a possible injury but was not transported for medical treatment. The Johnson vehicle sustained minor damage to the front, right front corner and left front corner. The Retterath vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Johnson was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. She was issued a citation for automobile following too closely.

Dori E. L. Weber, 24, Stetsonville, and Kenneth J. Krug, 22, Medford, were involved in an accident on February 10 at 10:35 a.m. at the intersection of CTH A and North Powell Street in the village of Stetsonville. According to the accident report, the Weber vehicle was northbound on South Powell Street and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection with CTH A. The Weber vehicle proceeded to make a right turn onto CTH A and struck the Krug vehicle, which was eastbound on CTH A. Weber stated she did not see the Krug vehicle on CTH A. The Weber vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner and right side front. The Krug vehicle sustained damage to the entire right side. Road surface conditions and failure to yield the right-of-way by Weber were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Juan C. Loya-Mendoza, 30, Abbotsford, and Haylee N. Langel, 22, Thorp, were involved in an accident on February 11 at 4:23 p.m. on CTH B in the village of Gilman. According to the accident report, both vehicles were northbound on CTH B. The Langel vehicle was negotiating the curve by the railroad crossing when it slid on an icy patch on the roadway and began to drift sideways. The vehicle was moving slowly as the driver re-corrected and it was struck from behind by the Loya-Mendoza vehicle. The impact pushed both vehicles into the southern ditch west of the crossing. Loya-Mendoza stated that he attempted to stop, but slid on the icy roadway and struck the rear of the Langel vehicle. A passenger in the Loya-Mendoza vehicle, Virginia Alvaro, 26, Abbotsford, sustained possible injuries but was not transported for medical treatment. The Loya-Mendoza vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner and left front corner. The Langel vehicle sustained damage to the rear, right rear corner and left rear corner. Road surface conditions and following too close by Loya-Mendoza were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued citations for operating without a valid license-first offense and automobile following too closely.

One-vehicle accidents

Allen R. Strassburg, 58, Kaukauna, was involved in an accident on February 8 at noon on Castle Road in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, a semi tractor-trailer unit operated by Strassburg was exiting a private driveway when the trailer wheels ran into the ditch. The loaded trailer lifted the tractor rear wheels off the pavement as it was turning over on the ditch. The tractor sustained minor damage to the front and undercarriage. Failure to control by Strassburg was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Alisha E. Jochimsen, 16, Medford, was involved in an accident on February 9 at 8 a.m. on CTH Q in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Jochimsen vehicle was southbound on CTH Q when the driver lost control on the icy pavement. The vehicle slid across the roadway and entered the east ditch, striking the hardened snow. The vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner, left front corner and left side front. Road surface conditions and failure to control by Jochimsen were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Gabriel Epifanio Felix, 17, Medford, was involved in an accident on February 6 at 10:15 p.m. on CTH M in the town of Grover. According to the accident report, the Epifanio Felix vehicle was westbound on CTH M when the driver attempted to slow before entering a curve in the roadway. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it entered the north ditch and rolled onto the driver’s side. The vehicle sustained damage to the entire left side. Road surface conditions and over-correcting/ over-steering by Epifanio Felix were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Christine A. Prois, 68, Medford, was involved in an accident on February 10 at 10:30 a.m. on Sackett Drive in the town of Molitor. According to the accident report, the Prois vehicle was northbound on Sackett Drive when the driver lost control on the icy pavement. The vehicle entered the east ditch and struck several trees in the ditch area. Prois sustained possible injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, right front corner, right side front, left front corner and left side front. Road surface conditions and failure to control by Prois were listed in the report as factors in the accident.

Deer-related accident

The following-deer related accident was reported: Nicole L. Burrier, 38, Ogema, on February 8 at 6:22 a.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Chelsea.
