Medford announces ticketing changes for winter sports

Medford Area Senior High will not be selling general admission, at-the-door tickets to athletic events during the 2020-21 winter sports season.

The school announced Monday in an online meeting with parents of student-athletes that it is going to an online platform, Ticketspice, to sell limited numbers of tickets to games and meets this winter.

Other schools in the Great Northern Conference will be doing the same thing, athletic director Andy Guden said during Monday’s meeting.

Tickets for home games are being limited to four per family for the sports of boys and girls basketball, girls and boys hockey and wrestling. Athletes in gymnastics, boys swimming and curling will be limited to two tickets per athlete due to space restrictions in their facilities.

Student section sales for events at Raider Hall will be limited to 25 per contest and student sections at the Simek Recreation Center for hockey games will be capped at 15 fans.

Links to the family/student codes to obtain the tickets will be provided through the family Skyward web pages of each student-athlete’s family prior to each game or meet. Admission fees remain at $4 per ticket for sports that have had fees in place in the past. For JV and JV2 level games and varsity sports that didn’t have admission fees in the past, tickets will be free, but fans will still need to obtain the tickets prior to attending any events. Student section tickets will be free for MASH students.

Families are free to distribute tickets to whoever they wish, but names will need to be provided for each ticket holder and waivers will need to be signed. Purchasers can only access the sale site for each game/meet once, so it is best to know who is using the tickets before making the purchase as sales are non-refundable.
