Accident reports
Amy L. Hackl, 40, Medford, and Lynette E. Marthaler, 70, Medford, were involved in an accident on September 11 at 3 p.m. on Hwy 64 in the town of Browning. According to the accident report, the Hackl vehicle was eastbound on Hwy 64 and slowing to make a left turn into a driveway at W2541 Hwy 64. The Marthaler vehicle was also eastbound and was passing the Hackl vehicle just as it began to make the left turn, striking the Hackl vehicle. Hackl stated she had her turn signal on. The occupants of the Marthaler vehicle stated the Hackl vehicle did not have its turn signal on. A passenger in the Marthaler vehicle, William D. Byrd Jr., 42, Medford, sustained possible injuries and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. The Hackl vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, left front corner and left side front. The Marthaler vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, right front corner, right side front and right side middle. Other contributing action by Hackl and exceeding the peed limit by Marthaler were listed in the report as factors in the accident.
Jason E. Wickersheim Jr., 26, Medford, and a vehicle owned by Andrew J. Preuss, Medford, were involved in an accident on September 18 t 5:11p.m. on North Second Street in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Preuss vehicle was legally-parked and unoccupied on North Second Street. The Wickersheim vehicle was backing out of a driveway at 111 N. Second St. when it struck the Preuss vehicle. Wickersheim stated he was talking with a passenger in the vehicle while he was backing out of the driveway. The Preuss vehicle sustained minor damage to the left side middle. The Wickersheim vehicle sustained minor damage to the right rear corner. Wickersheim distracted by passenger or other non-motorist was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Patrick M. Gengler, 34, Stetsonville, and Jane Slachetka, 52, Medford, were involved in an accident on September 22 at 1:43 p.m. in a parking lot on Progressive Avenue in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Gengler vehicle was southbound and the Slachetka vehicle was westbound through the parking lot. The Gengler vehicle turned toward the driveway exit in front of the Slachetka vehicle and was struck by the Slachetka vehicle. Gengler stated he failed to yield the right-of-way. The Gengler vehicle sustained minor damage to the left front corner and left side front. The Slachetka vehicle sustained minor damage to the front, right front corner and right side front. Looked but did not see by Gengler was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.
John A. Lemke, 45, Medford, and Phillip J. Fredrikson Jr., 49, Medford, were involved in an accident on September 25 at 7:43 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy 13 and CTH O in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Lemke vehicle was southbound on Hwy 13 and the Fredrikson vehicle was eastbound on CTH O. The Fredrikson vehicle had a green light and was proceeding through the intersection with Hwy 13 to turn northbound on Hwy 13. Lemke failed to stop for the red traffic light and proceeded into the intersection, striking the Fredrikson vehicle. The Lemke vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, left front corner and left side front. The Fredrikson vehicle sustained damage to the left side front. Fredrikson sustained possible injuries but was not transported for medical treatment. Disregarding a red traffic light by Lemke was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for a red traffic light violation.
Robert E. Lucia, 93, Westboro, was involved in an accident onSeptember 10 at 11:27 a.m. on Hwy 13 in the town of Chelsea. According to the accident report, the Lucia vehicle was northbound on Hwy 13 when it crossed the roadway onto the west shoulder and entered the ditch. The vehicle struck a sign post and went into the ditch. Lucia stated there was a vehicle in his lane of traffic, but two witnesses stated there was no vehicle and that the Lucia vehicle nearly struck a southbound vehicle. The vehicle sustained front, right front corner, right side front, left front corner and left side front. It was towed from the scene. Failure to control and the confused or disoriented condition of Lucia were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued a citation for reckless driving-endangering safety.
Jack R. McCarty, 22, Glidden, was involved in an accident on September 11 at 10:26 p.m. on CTH M in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the McCarty vehicle was eastbound on CTH M when the driver dropped his cigarette and leaned over to retrieve it. The vehicle began to drift toward the ditch. McCarty attempted to correct his steering, but over-corrected. The vehicle slid in the same direction of travel and entered the ditch. The vehicle sustained damage to the

front, rear and rear driver’s side tire. McCarty was able to remove the vehicle from the ditch and parked it on the side of the roadway waiting for it to be towed. Failure to keep in designated lane; operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or inattentive manner; 0ver-correcting/over-steering; and looking away from the task by McCarty were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued a citation for inattentive driving.
Cade L. Fliehs, 18, Rib Lake, was involved in an accident on September 13 at 2:58 a.m. on CTH C in the town of Browning. According to the accident report, the Fliehs vehicle was northbound on CTH C when the driver swerved to miss a deer in the roadway and the vehicle rolled onto the passenger side into a steep ditch, Accident reports

causing damage to the entire vehicle. Fliehs, who was verbally identified, admitted he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and advised he had suffered a laceration on the top of his head. The reported stated Fliehs was ultimately taken to the hospital by his father and the vehicle was towed from the scene. Swerved or avoided due to wind, slippery surface, motor vehicle, object or non-motorist in the roadway by Fliehs was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for failing to wear a seatbelt.
Nicholas S. Dolan, 30, Medford, was involved in an accident on September 20 at 5:55 a.m. on Center Avenue in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, the Dolan vehicle was eastbound on Center Avenue when it entered the south ditch and traveled for approximately 120 feet before hitting a driveway. The vehicle became airborne and landed in the ditch on the other side of the driveway. The report stated that Dolan denied driving, then admitted it. The report went on to stated that Dolan made no attempt to notify law enforcement of the accident. Dolan sustained possible injuries but was not transported for medical treatment. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, left front corner and right front corner. Operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner by Dolan was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. He was issued a citation for failure of occupant to notify police of an accident.
Cheyanne E. Daley, 18, Gilman, was involved in an accident on September 20 at 10:07 p.m. on CTH O in the town of Little Black. According to the accident report, the Daley vehicle was eastbound on CTH O when the vehicle hit the gravel on the roadside and the driver attempted to correct her steering. The driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to skid into the ditch. Daley stated that she did not remember the accident. The report stated that due to the damage to the vehicle and ditch, the investigating officer believes the vehicle rolled twice and came to a stop on its roof. Daley was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. There was damage to the entire vehicle and it was towed from the scene. Running off the roadway by Daley was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. She was issued a citation for failure to keep the vehicle under control.
Eleanor M. Hackel, 78, Medford, was involved in an accident on September 25 at 3:14 p.m. in the parking lot on Hwy 13 in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Hackel vehicle was traveling through a parking lot when it struck a fixed pole. The vehicle sustained disabling damage to the front, right front corner and right side front. Looked but did not see by Hackel was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.
Deer vs. motorcycle accident
An off-road motorcycle operated by a juvenile was involved in an accident on September 17 at 11:30 a.m. on Sunnyside Road in the town of McKinley. According to the accident report, on September 15 at 6:15 p.m. the juvenile was southbound on Sunnyside Road when the motorcycle struck a deer in the roadway and the juvenile was thrown from the motorcycle. The juvenile broke his femur and sustained road rash injuries to his head, right arm, right leg and right hip/ side. The report stated that the accident was not reported to the police. The motorcycle sustained damage to the right front corner and right side middle. The juvenile was issued a citation for operating a limited-use off-highway motorcycle (OHM) on an OHM route/highway without wearing required protective headgear.

Phillip P. Goessl, 43, Withee, on September 19 5:16 a.m. on CTH DD in the town of Maplehurst.
Grace E. Deskins, 25, Rib Lake, on September 25 at 7:15 p.m. on Forest Drive in the town of Greenwood.
Duane A. Rudolph, 51, Dorchester, on September 28 at 7:29 p.m. on CTH O in the town of Holway.
