Ending a successful season, the Lake Holcombe boys basketball program handed out awards to celebrate their accomplishments. The team went 15-9 overall and 9-3 in the East Lakeland Conference, coming in at second place.

Despite a hectic schedule and battling illness, players still held themselves to a high standard academically. Receiving Academic Medals, are seniors Tyler Dixon, Josh Jones and Kaden Kinney; juniors Kaden Crank, Derek Jones and Brandon Nitek; sophomore Colton Minnick; and freshmen Harley Schroeder and Max Sauerwein.

This year, three Chieftains were named to the conference team, where only six players receive the honor. Making up the First Team All-Conference, are Crank, Flater and Kinney. Receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention, was J. Jones.

“It’s quite an honor to have so many on our team make this list,” said coach Joy Webster. “Needless to say, I am very proud of these boys.”

Making the All-County Second Team, are Crank, Flater and Kinney. J. Jones also received All-County Honorable Mention.

“Once again, a very proud accomplishment,” said Webster.

Team awards were also handed out, with Flater selected for the 3-Point Award (55). J. Jones was named the Defensive Player of the Year, while Crank was selected as Offensive Player of the Year. Senior Jarred Jiskra was awarded with the Comeback Player of the Year and Kinney received MVP.

Lettering for the team, were senior Tyler Dixon, Crank, Jiskra, J. Jones and Kinney; juniors Will Kliegle, Crank, Flater and D. Jones; and sophomores Brendan Anders, Dylan Bowen and Nate Jones.

Getting special nods from Webster, were Crank, Jiskra, Jones and Kinney.

“Our final awards of the season, go to our four seniors who will all be missed next year,” said Webster. “Thank you for dedication to Lake Holcombe basketball and good luck.”
