Daniel R. Paul, 77, Dorchester, and Jamie A. Kilty, 44, Unity, were involved in an accident on January 30 at 12:52 p.m. on Hwy 13 in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, a semi tractor-trailer unit operated by Kilty was northbound on Hwy 13. The Paul vehicle exited a business driveway and proceeded north on Hwy 13. Paul did not see the Kilty vehicle and merged into the outside lane, striking the Kilty vehicle. The driver of the Kilty vehicle swerved in an attempt to avoid the contact and struck a snowbank along the side of the roadway. The Paul vehicle sustained minor damage to the right side front. The Kilty vehicle sustained damage to the driver’s side front in the collision and the passenger side front from striking the snowbank. Failure to yield the right-of-way by Paul was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Brittany R. Decker, 28, Dorchester, and a vehicle owned by Lyn W. Hartl, 56, Medford, were involved in an accident on February 5 at 3:16 p.m. in the parking lot at the Simek Recreation Center, 1037 W. Broadway Ave. in the city of Medford. According to the accident report, the Decker vehicle was backing out of a parking space when it struck the legally-parked and unoccupied Hartl vehicle, damaging the right rear corner. The Decker vehicle sustained damage to the rear bumper.

Christina M. Keating Copenhaver, 45, Gilman, and a vehicle owned by Dean Z. Herberts, Sheldon were involved in an accident on February 5 at 6:15 p.m. on Crumb Street in the village of Gilman. According to the accident report, the Keating Copenhaver vehicle was backing out of a private driveway when it struck the Herberts vehicle which was legally-parked and unoccupied along the side of the street. The Keating Copenhaver vehicle sustained damage to the right rear corner. The Herberts vehicle sustained damage to the left side front. Operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive, careless or erratic manner by Keating Copenhaver was listed in the report as a factor in the accident.

Koryn T. Duesing, 17, Medford, and Patricia M. Smith, 73, Sheldon, were involved in an accident on February 6 at 6:45 a.m. on CTH Q in the town of Medford. According to the accident report, both vehicles were southbound on CTH Q when the driver of the Smith vehicle slowed to avoid a deer in the roadway and was struck from behind by the Duesing vehicle. Smith sustained possible injury and was transported to Aspirus Medford Hospital for medical treatment. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage to their respective ends and were towed from the scene. Following too close by Duesing was listed in the report as a factor in the accident. She was issued a citation for automobile following too closely.

Barbara J. Hasseldick, 83, Stetsonville, and Clinton D. Boyles, 37, Mosinee, were involved in an accident on February 8 at 8 a.m. on CTH A in the town of Deer Creek. According to the accident report, both vehicles were westbound on CTH A. The driver of the Hasseldick vehicle had the turn signal on, braked and slowed to turn into a driveway at W4983 CTH A. The driver of the Boyles vehicle braked and swerved to try and avoid the Hasseldick vehicle, but was unable to avoid the collision. The Hasseldick vehicle sustained damage to the rear and left rear corner. The Boyles vehicle sustained damage to the front, right front corner, right side front and right side middle. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Following too close; and swerved or avoided due to wind, slippery surface, motor vehicle, object or non-motorist in roadway by Boyles were listed in the report as factors in the accident. He was issued citations for operating while suspended and automobile following too closely.

The following deer-related accident was reported: Phyllis R. Turek, 80, Gilman, on February 6 at 6 p.m. on Hwy 73 in the town of Roosevelt.
