Area FBLA students advance to state


MARATHON FBLA TAKES FIRSTMarathon High School's FBLA team, at right, finished first out of 30 schools at the Feb. 1 Region 2 FBLA conference in Edgar. Marathon FBLA has now won 17 consecutive Region 2 titles. The Marathon FBLA program advanced 47 members to the State FBLA Conference, March 31 - April 1 in Green Bay.

EDGAR HOSTS FBLA REGIONAL - Over 800 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and their advisers came to Edgar High School on Feb. 1 to participate in the Region 2 Leadership Conference, competing in over 65 events. Twelve Edgar students scored in the top three in the events, qualifying for the State FBLA Conference. Students who placed fourth or fifth qualified as back-up. The Edgar students above are listed along with the events they qualified in. In front, from left to right are Caius Higgins (first in Intro To Parliamentary Procedure), Claire Deal, Carlie Stahel (third in Healthcare Administration), Emma Riehle (second in Organizational Leadership), Addie Trawicki (fifth in UX Design), Lucy Kolodziej and Sam Schneider. STRATFORD FBLA- Below, a total of 13 students from Stratford High School participated in Edgar, with five students placing in the top three of their events and qualifying for the state FBLA competition. Pictured below, from left to right, are Sophia Delo, who came in second in Intro to Public Speaking; advisor Lynne Johnson; and Eliza Hauke, who took third in Intro to FBLA. Not pictured is Tyler Budtke, who took second in Supply Chain Management, and Maddie Fischer and Madelyn Stein, who took second as a team in Business Ethics.
ATHENS FBLA- Athens High School sent 13 FBLA members, at left, to the Regional Leadership Conference in Edgar. From left to right are Aleah Frahm, Danica Diethelm, Cristopher Velazquez, Ted Schultz-Becker, Sy’Rih Hartwig, Sarai Aguilar-Hernandez, Vanessa Espinoza-Quiroz, Itzel Espinoza- Quiroz, Bianca Boneske, Brooklynn Soens and advisor Michelle Murkowski. Missing are Ava Ford, Isabella Zastrow and Natalie Salber. Frahm and Zastrow took second in Future Business Educator and Public Speaking, respectively. Boneske will compete in the Local Chapter Annual Business Report, a straight to state event. Vanessa Espinoza-Quiroz and Itzel Espinoza-Quiroz will participate in Leadership Academy. Itzel Espinoza-Quiroz will also be running for the Wisconsin FBLA State Reporter position.
