School District of Stratford

Every day when I drive to school I see our Stratford community sign that says “On the Move.” That sign reminds me of our highly dedicated staff that is continuously looking to improve and help our students reach their full potential.

As we begin the 2023-24 school year, our team has been working diligently on pursuing the vast array of components needed in succeeding our mission, vision, and goals of our strategic plan. It has been a collaborative effort starting with surveying our community in the summer of 2022, selecting four pillars of success (Academic Achievement, Developing and Retaining Staff, Community Partnerships, and Communication) at our August school board meeting in 2022, followed by developing values, goals, and action steps with our district leadership team and and staff throughout the last 365 days. Within the next few articles, we will share with you pieces of our strategic plan so that you can see where our focus is based on the collaborative efforts of our community, school board, and staff. Our strategic plan is a work in progress that is fluid and consciously being worked on. When we measure our progress at the end of an academic year, we reflect on the work we have done and the action steps that we have taken to achieve our goals that were created in our four pillars of success.

Sometimes we might not meet our goals. If this happens, our team will reflect and shift plans based on our achievements as well as the areas where we didn’t make the mark. I am looking forward to working with our highly dedicated staff as we focus on doing our best to accomplish our goals so that our students graduate life, career, and college ready.
