The school’s Veterans Day assembly is from 9-9:45 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, in the school gym.

Maple Grove Charter School will hold a staff sponsored chili supper from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, open to the public in the school gym.

SNOWMOBILE SAFETY COURSE IN MARATHON

The Rib Riders Snowmobile Club will offer a snowmobile safety course Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6, 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Marathon City Fire Station.

Afghan refugee and author Najib Azad will talk about his family’s experiences fleeing Afghanistan and resettling in central Wisconsin, which he chronicles in his new book, “Beyond Evacuation”, on Nov. 9 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. MCPL NUTRITION - “EAT THIS, NOT THAT”

SANTA IS COMING TO EDGAR

On Sunday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m. watch Santa with his reindeer come down Main Street and turn on the Christmas tree lights by the log cabin at Oak Street Park. Then Santa and Mrs. Claus will light the tree in the Oak Street shelter before giving out treats to the children. There will be hot chocolate, cookies and bars. Special activities are planned throughout the day from 1-3 p.m.

Volunteers are needed to help serve and bake cookies and bars. Call 715352-2577, ask for Karen if you are able to help.
