The Round of Mulligans held a lead over Louie/Werner for six of seven innings in last week’s Seasoned Players League game at the Edgar Softball Complex but could not hold it in the 8-7 loss. The Mullies jumped out to a 7-0 lead. L/W finally came out of their corn coma in the third scoring two runs. They closed the gap to one run by the sixth inning. Hits by Grunny and Anna brought Chicken Claw Wayne to the plate and he roped a double down the left field line to score both of them and win the game. Winning pitcher Bart and Wayne both had two hits for L/W. Heath was 2-2 for the Mullies who feel they will be contenders next season.

The Strobes vs. Pharm matchup fit the billing for the first three innings. Strobes held a 2-0 lead. Suddenly the flood gates opened. The Pharm sandwiched four hits that got to the fence with base hits. The Pharm secured their share of the league title with a 13-2 victory. With Strobes loss and a forfeit earlier in the year, L/W also ended up with two losses.

Edgar Lanes came out snorting. A base hit and an inthe- park homer by Mark gave the Lanes a 2-0 lead. Landmark knew the game was on. They responded by sending 14 players to the plate, gathering 11 hits and nine runs. The Lanes loaded the bases in the second inning, but a couple of K’s ended the threat. In the fourth inning, they nearly had another in-the-parker by Joe. Cody and Nathan had an excellent relay and Shanney dug the ball out of the dirt to cut him down by a step. Bill was 3-3, Mark, Cody, Shanney, John and Camouche were all 2-2 for Landmark. The bottom of the order had half of Landmark’s 18 hits in the 13-2 win. The Lanes were again celebrating after a loss because sponsor Tammy and Bryan got first and third in last week’s Softball Complex raffle.
