Utility commisson approves second pay request

The village of Marathon City approved a pay request to the Clean Water Fund Loan last Wednesday at its monthly utility board meeting.

Village administrator Andy Kurtz said the total amount requested is $709,869.17. This cost is split up into $93,487.50 to cover the engineering costs and $616,381.67 paid to Market Johnson.

“I have prepared our first disbursement request, well actually our second disbursement so we made an initial disbursement request as part of the initial loan closing and we were granted that money,” Kurtz said.

“If you look at the financials here you’re going to see there is a big posting from borrowing of $443,080 which is the first disbursement from our loan that we basically turned around and paid to People’s State Bank. The total disbursement was $503,090 so the difference between the $443,000 that we paid to the bank and that was additional engineering costs absorbed.”

“We have to submit these disbursement requests as there’s a specific schedule for that, which typically is the first of the month that we make the request and then they pay it out in the middle of the month. Obviously they are doing work. What I’ve got is a motion to approve that pay request as part of your new business.”

“So there is another bucket of engineering down that is part of the clean water loan fund that we get invoices from them for activities, plan review and then the actual construction costs and the equipment and those things all come out of there.”

“The pay request for Market Johnson is for its work. Our reimbursement request is the assemblance of all the other things. I have all the invoices that are part of the submission packet that we send to DNR.”
