Bub is candidate for 87th Assembly

Mike Bub, Medford, chairperson of the Taylor County Republican Party, has announced he is running against “Jimmy Boy” Edming for 87th assembly district.

Bub worked 32 years as a senior information systems manager for Tombstone, Kraft and Nestle pizza. He has a wide experience in local government.

He currently serves on the Taylor County Board and is chairman of its Information Technology Broadband and Shared Transportation Committees. He is second vicechair of the Taylor County Board Executive Committee and a member of the Zoning, Human Services and Solid Waste Committees.

Bub is a past president of the Medford City Council and the Medford Board of Education.

He is a member of the Medford Kiwanis, Holy Rosary Church, Medford Knights of Columbus, a founding member of the Medford All Sports Booster Club and coached Medford Senior High track for 33 years.

Bub says he supports the Second Amendment and police. He is Pro-Life and believes in local control of local and county governments. Bub believes in either changing or replacing the Wisconsin Elections Commission and improving broadband across the 87th District.

Bub said incumbent Edming has reneged on his pledge to serve only two terms. Edming has served four terms.

“I feel the 87th District and rural Wisconsin are being underrepresented in the state assembly,” he said. “We need a representative who is not afraid to stand up and say ‘rural Wisconsin’ and that the 87th District deserves its fair share of support from Madison.”
