Granton Students, Parents and Community Members: Volunteers are needed and welcome!!

We are off to a great start to the 2022-23 school year. The first term is over and we are a couple weeks into the second term. We are looking for help from parents, relatives and community members. Volunteers are needed. If you live in the area or are a relative or friend of the community, we are asking for you to help provide some time to work with our educators as a volunteer. You can lend your expertise, read to students, tutor or supervise students in the Granton Area School District. If you are a new volunteer, contact Sheila in the District Office to complete paperwork to be an approved volunteer.

Over the past couple years many building improvements have been made but we want the community to hear about and see all the great things happening every day in our school. See the article by Principal Kraus regarding curriculum and program upgrades this year. So much time and effort has been invested into program and curriculum upgrades used by our educators daily. We are proud of the great work by our Granton students.

The annual School District Report Cards were sent to districts across the state over the past few weeks. Our staff reviewed the information and looked into areas for continuous improvement. The School Report Card information was released to the public on Nov. 15. Results will be reported at the December School Board meeting. Again, we are proud of our Granton students and of their growth and performance on the School District Report Cards.

As we celebrate the successes of the School District Report Card, the Granton Equestrian Team, Granton FFA and all organizations and teams, and our students’ academic performance, we welcome you to join us. I look forward to seeing community members at school concerts, games, the Christmas Store and other activities and as a volunteer in our school.

As our Granton Area School District Vision states, reaffirmed by community stakeholders, the Strategic Plan Steering Committee and the Granton School Board states: Excellence, Innovation, Inspiration; Every day. Every way.

Granton Interim District Administrator James Kuchta
