Granton Haunted forest Granton Haunted forest

The Granton Agriculture Department and FFA is excited to announce its third annual Haunted Forest. The Haunted Forest will be held in the Granton School Forest at the Granton School District (217 N. Main St., Granton) from 7-10 p.m. on Oct. 14-15, and Oct. 21-22. This event is encouraged for anyone ages 12 and up who enjoy a good scare. Entry fee is $10 per person, with the proceeds from this event going towards the development of an animal learning lab for the school district.

This year’s Haunted Forest theme is “Asylum”. Guests will be led through the Granton Asylum to undergo a psych examination by our best medical professionals, “Doctor Death” and “Nurse Nightmare”. Travel along the forest trails as you visit many aspects of the asylum, including the recovery room, basement, visitation room, and more! Will you make it out alive or will you become the next patient to check in and never leave?

Concessions will be available for purchase and bathroom facilities will be available. All guests will be required to sign a waiver prior to entering the forest. This event is put on, thanks to the countless hours put in by volunteers to construct all scare stations. All actors and group leaders are volunteers from the Granton community. Safety precautions: strobe lights and fog machines will be used. Guests will not be allowed to wear masks while walking through the trails. Trails include stairs and bridges, which may be a limitation for some with mobility issues. Lastly, for the safety of our volunteers, filming of the event will not be permitted. Not interested in the scary aspect of the Haunted Forest? No problem! Children, families, and anyone interested in learning something new are invited to participate in a special Forest Education Night event on Oct. 22 from 2-5 p.m. Walk through the Haunted Forest trails and visit stations to participate in hands-on learning activities. This is a great way to see the Haunted Forest set up without the scare-factor or darkness that goes along with the night time event! Free will donations for the animal lab will be accepted at the conclusion of the Forest Education Night tour.
