Principal’s Message

by Grade 6-12 Principal Jason Gorst
We are up and running on what we hope will be a fantastic school year!
Cell Phone Policy We revamped our cell phone policy this year. We have found that students having their cell phones in the classroom led to poor grades, disengagement, and an increase in behavior issues. We are asking that all students leave their phones on silent in their lockers.
Clubs During our first couple of days of school we did a sign up activity for our clubs. We had a significant increase in student interest in clubs by doing it this way. The clubs we will offer this year are FFA, FBLA, FCCLA, History Club, Spanish Club, NHS, Ecology Club, Student Council, Skills USA, and Science Club. E Hall Pass We are monitoring our student whereabouts in the building this year through the use of an electronic pass system. So far it has had a positive impact on time off task throughout the day. New Programs With the passing of our operational referendum last year we were able to bring back our Business Education and Spanish Departments. We are very excited to offer these in-person opportunities for our kids and we look forward to collaborating with local districts to offer expanded virtual options. New Staff We are welcoming 16 new staff members into the Middle and High School. We are excited to be able to fill all of our positions as the state is in the midst of a teacher shortage.
