New Miss Spencerama royalty named
The Miss Spencerama pageant gives young ladies of Spencer the chance to represent our wonderful community. There are three levels of Miss Spencerama; Lil’ Miss for 4k to third-graders; Junior Miss for fourth- to seventh-graders; and Miss Spencerama for eighth grade to juniors. The judging event was held on Aug. 16 with 10 contestants. The crowning took place during Music in the Park on Aug. 17. Those crowned are involved in many community functions and activities during the year in which they reign, such as parades, community events, village board meetings, etc.
The Miss Spencerama pageant is organized by Spencer Girl Scout Troop 6158 and the Spencer Woman’s Club with financial support from the Spencer Woman’s Club and Mark and Chris Frey as well as a donation of gifts for the contestants from Spectrum Benefit Solutions LLC. This year’s judges were Susan Reid, Theresa Schauer and Sue Johnson.
The judges rated the contestants during the judging event on the following areas: poise, personality, appearance, questions and talent. The contestants did a fabulous job presenting their talents and answering questions related to making Spencer even better, making it quite difficult for the judges.
During the coronation event on Aug. 17, the Spencer Woman’s Club recognized the 2021 Spencerama Royalty with a plaque and monetary awards for their accomplishments and completion of the commitments in their reigning year. 2021 Spencerama Royalty included Junior Miss Spencerama Lyra VanHoof and Lil’ Miss Spencerama Montana Tomzcik. Lyra VanHoff crowned the 2022 Spencerama Royalty on Aug. 17.

Kaydence Plaskey was crowned on Aug. 17 as the 2022 Miss Spencerama, Danica Plaskey is the new Junior Miss Spencerama, and Mya Nagel is the new Lil’ Miss Spencerama.
