Prentice, Wisconsin – Biewer Wisconsin Sawmill is one of five sawmills owned by Biewer Lumber, with three right in the heart of Red Pine country. Kevin Ponsler of Ladysmith is the general manager of the sawmill and the lumber treating facility in Prentice.

The Prentice sawmill has the capacity to produce more than 100 million board feet of dimensional lumber and timber annually. The sawmill is fully automated, modern, high-tech facilities, vertically integrated to provide the highest-quality building products for our customers, Ponsler said.

Ponsler enjoys working for the Biewer Lumber family owned and operated business. The company is proud to promote and encourage employee and family values while giving back to the communities that have given so much to us over the years, he said.

Biewer has five full-time foresters with over 65 years of combined experience who oversee the processes, ensuring high standards are upheld while administering Biewer’s Private Landowner Assistance Program. Adam Fueher, of Coloma is procurement manager and states the logging crews are trained and follow Best Management Practices protecting our forests and ensuring they are managed for sustainability.

Paige Sondelski, of Athens started full-time at Biewer Wisconsin Sawmill in Prentice after graduating this past May from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in Forest Management.
